If you haven’t ever had your heat pump cleaned, it’s possible that you’re losing hundreds of dollars each year due to the inefficiencies caused by the accumulation of dirt and debris in your heat pump.

Q: Why should I clean my heat pump?
A: Regular cleaning of your heat pump ensures that it operates efficiently, which helps to reduce energy costs and prolong the life of your unit. Dirty heat pumps can result in increased energy consumption, which can lead to higher utility bills.

Q: How often should I clean my heat pump?
A: It is recommended that you have your heat pump professionally cleaned at least once a year. However, if you live in a particularly dusty, mold prone, or high foliage area, you may need to clean your unit as frequent as every 6 months.

Q: Isnt cleaning my filters enough? Can I clean my heat pump myself?
A: Cleaning filters should be done one to two times a month.  It is generally not recommended that you perform a deep clean of your heat pump yourself, as it can be a complex process requiring specialized tools and knowledge. It is best to have a professional HVAC technician perform the cleaning to ensure that it is done correctly and safely.

Q: Do you clean anything other than heat pumps?
A: Yes, Bill’s Heat Pump Cleaning services a wide range of systems including dehumidifiers, air filters and regular air conditioners.

Q: What is your service area?
A: Bill’s Heat Pump provides service throughout Eastern Maine. If you require service outside of this area, it may be possible to accommodate your needs, but a travel cost may be added to cover the additional distance.

Q: How long does a heat pump cleaning take?
A: The duration of a heat pump cleaning can vary depending on the location and condition of your unit. On average, a cleaning takes 45 minutes to one hour per heat pump.

Q: Does having a pet make my heat pump dirtier?
A: Yes, Many pet owners notice that having a pet can contribute to the accumulation of dirt and debris in your heat pump, which can impact its performance and efficiency.
